Mass of the Christian burial for Catherine Dentlinger of Halbur will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur.

Mrs. Dentlinger, 78, died Thursday, April 27, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

The Rev. Dale Reiff will preside at the Mass. Lector will be Kelly Barrick. Gift bearers will be Tammy Bruch, Stacy Halbur, Sarah Pacholski, Kendall Dentlinger and Skylar Dentlinger. Servers will be Kim and Kara Hausman. Eucharistic minister will be Lois Dentlinger.

Casket bearers will be Matt Halbur, Jeff Dentlinger, Kyle Dentlinger, Alan Pacholski, Tom Bruch and Gary Williams.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery at Halbur.

Visitation started at 2:30 and Catholic Daughters of America Sacred Heart Court 454 of Templeton led a rosary at 3 this afternoon at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. A vigil will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral home.

A daughter of Henry and Anna (Testroet) Anstoeter, she was born Sept. 27, 1927, at Halbur, was educated at St. Augustine School in Halbur and earned a GED.

She and Alphonse J. Dentlinger were married Sept. 9, 1947, at St. Augustine Church in Halbur with the Rev. H.B. Kramer officiating.

Mrs. Dentlinger worked at Farmers Savings Bank in Halbur for 33 years. She also worked at the St. Augustine School lunch program in Halbur.

She was a member of St. Augustine Church and choir of Halbur, the Templeton CDA and St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary. She also volunteered at New Hope Village and area nursing homes.

Survivors include four sons: Allan Dentlinger and his wife, Roxie, of Gillette, Wyo., Glenn Dentlinger and his wife, Lois, of Halbur, Loran Dentlinger and close friends Donna and Colton Hacker of Halbur, and Keith Dentlinger and his wife, Brenda, of West Des Moines; four daughters: Joyce Plunkett and her husband, David, of Ridgeland, Wis., Linda Halbur and her husband, Ivan, of Arcadia, Nancy Dentlinger of Piedmont, Okla., and Julie Casper and her husband, Kyle, of Blair, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis Anstoeter, and his wife, Rita, of Carroll; and a sister, Esther Williams, of Manning.
