Fromknecht, Robert M.

Robert "Bob" Fromknecht, 76, of Erie died Wednesday April 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Erie October 11, 1934 son of the late Elmer George and Helen Janka Fromknecht. Bob was a retired employee of AMSCO. He was a member of the Forester's Benefical Society and the Slovak National Club. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and during his retirement he enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald and Gerald Fromknecht and his dog Maize. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Joyce King Fromknecht, daughter Roberta Shuttle and husband David, sons David Fromknecht and Jessica, Glen Fromknecht and wife Mary Kathryn, and Aric Fromknecht and his wife Terri, all of Erie, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother Richard Fromknecht and wife Hortenzia of Calif., sister Elaine Castleberry of Calif., many nieces and nephews and his dog Bentley. The family would like to express their special thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Chorazy. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Ash St. Friday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there Saturday at 12 noon. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice or to Holy Trinity Church.
