Josephine Janka "Red" Sutley
Josephine "Red" Janka Sutley, 87, of Erie, passed away on February 1, 2011 at St. Mary's Home East. She was born on January 3, 1924 in Erie, daughter of the late Anthony and Victoria Paluh Janka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Sutley (1987); a son, Bruce Sutley; a sister, Helen Fromknecht; three brothers: Michael, Raymond, and Stanley Janka. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, it's Faith and Sharing Club, Eucharistic Minister, a member of the St. Stans Mom's Club and Women's Auxiliary, she was also founder and past president of the St. Stan's Senior Citizens Group. She was a great cook, baker, and bingo caller. She is survived by one son, Rick Sutley (Nancy) of Conneautville, Pa.; one daughter, Lisa Ann Stubbe of Erie; two granddaughters, Cristina Peterson and Elizabeth Stubbe; one great granddaughter, Rachel Peterson, all of Erie. She is also survived by a sister in law, Helen Janka; two nieces, Janice and Elaine, and several nephews and very special friends and neighbors, Bill and Sandy Brown. Services will be at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa. 16503 on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 516 East 13th St., Erie, PA 16503
