Albert “Big Al” Krawiec Albert “Big Al” Krawiec, 79, of Erie, died Sunday, October 26, 2008 surrounded by his family at Saint Vincent Hospital following a short illness. Born in Erie on June 8, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Paluch Krawiec. Retired from General Electric after a lengthy service, he was heavily involved in Union activity. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Al loved to golf, cook and watch his Detroit Lions loose football games. Besides his parents, Al is preceded in death by his brother, John Krawiec. He is survived by two sons: Albert Krawiec, Jr. and his “Old Lady” Debbie of West Springfield and John Krawiec of Erie; three daughters: Cindy, Jackie and Mary, all of Erie; two brothers: Larry and Casmir Krawiec, both of Erie; two sisters: Mary Anne Taylor and Margie Viet, both of California; and, several grandchildren including: Joseph, Elizabeth, Seth, Kain, Gage, Isaac, Amanda, Cassie, Sarah, Brooke, Victoria, Zach and Dee Dee. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The Salvation Army, 1209 Sassafras St., Erie, PA 16501.
