Krawiec, Lawrence G.

Lawrence G. Krawiec, 89, a resident of the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home, died there Friday, June 22, 2012. He was born in Erie, April 2, 1923, son of the late John and Mary Paluch Krawiec. Larry was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was the proprietor of the former Keystone Bowling Supply. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a long-time avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan. Larry was a member of St. Luke Church, Society of Holy Trinity Club, East Erie Turners, Siebenbuerger Club, Polish Falcons Nest 123, Foresters Club, Polish Businessmen's Association, and the Maennerchor Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rawa Krawiec; brothers, John, Al, and Casimir "Butch" Krawiec; and granddaughter-in-law, Alexa Lynch. Survivors include children, Nancy Lynch and husband, William, of Branford Conn., Lawrence J. Krawiec and wife, Brenda, of Erie, and Susan Krawiec of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren, Peter Lynch and wife, Tiffany, Amanda Lynch and husband, Christopher Linscott, Patrick Lynch and wife, Margo Andrews, Victoria Krawiec, and Melanie Krawiec; sisters Margaret "Margie" Veit and Ann Taylor, both of California, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Ash St., Sunday 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and may attend a service there Monday at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home Alzheimer's Unit or to VNA Hospice.
